As part of the professional development plan for the 2026–2027 school year, on September 17, 2026, the Grade 2 teaching team at Yen Hoa Primary School successfully organized a Vietnamese Language demonstration lesson for Grade 2 students.
Under the theme “I really enjoy working”, the lesson “Words for things and activities. Sentences describing activities” was delivered by Mrs. Vu Thi Su, teacher of Class 2A12.

The demonstration lesson was designed to contribute to improving the quality of Vietnamese Language teaching through an approach that promotes students’ qualities and competencies, while creating a valuable opportunity for Grade 2 teachers to exchange ideas, share practical experience, and discuss effective ways to organize learning activities suited to young learners.

Learning through Play – Playing through Learning

From the very beginning of the lesson, the classroom was filled with energy and excitement through the game “Clap and Guess the Word”. By combining learning with play, the teacher created a positive learning atmosphere and encouraged students to actively recall and use their vocabulary as they entered the new lesson.

Students were excited about the “Clap and Guess the Word” warm-up activity.

During the discovery activity, students observed pictures, identified the things shown, and worked collaboratively in groups to discuss and share their answers. Worksheets, together with digital technology, provided students with opportunities to cooperate, exchange ideas, and present their group work on Padlet.

Digital technology was naturally integrated into the lesson, helping students develop their role as responsible digital citizens.

The lesson became even more engaging with “The magic wheel”. Through the game, students enthusiastically identified words describing familiar activities, such as sweeping the floor, watering plants, and picking vegetables. In this way, new language concepts were introduced naturally and meaningfully through contexts that were close to students’ everyday lives.

Students listened attentively as their classmates shared their ideas with the class.

A journey on the “Knowledge Train”

The image of a “Knowledge Train” ran throughout the lesson, serving as a connecting thread between the different learning activities. At each “station”, the young “passengers” discovered new knowledge, completed learning tasks, and worked together before continuing their journey to the next station.

In application activity, students practised making sentences about the things they do at home. Starting from familiar tasks such as sweeping the floor, watering plants, and picking vegetables, they gradually learned to recognize and construct sentences describing activities.
Beyond language learning, the activity also provided a meaningful opportunity to nurture students’ sense of responsibility, encouraging them to share household tasks and help their parents with age-appropriate work.

Putting students at the heart of learning

A key feature of the demonstration lesson was the variety of learning activities, thoughtfully combining educational games with digital technology. Rather than simply receiving knowledge, students were encouraged to observe, think, discuss, share their ideas, and create their own learning products.
For the Grade 2 teaching team, the lesson was also a valuable opportunity for professional exchange. Teachers discussed how to make effective use of learning materials, organize collaborative activities, integrate digital technology, and incorporate education in polite and civilized behavior into Vietnamese Language lessons.
The session therefore offered students a relaxed, enjoyable, and engaging learning experience while also encouraging innovation, creativity, and professional sharing among teachers.

With this spirit, the Grade 2 teaching team will continue to accompany one another, share ideas, and innovate in teaching practice, bringing students more meaningful lessons in which “Learning is Fun – Fun is Learning”.
Through continuous professional learning and collaboration, the team aims to contribute to building a positive, friendly, and effective educational environment where every student has opportunities to learn, participate, grow, and enjoy their learning journey.
